E360 Electric System
Empowering Off-Highway Excellence
For DEUTZ, electric drive systems are an important milestone on the road to becoming a carbon-neutral provider. This is where the DEUTZ E360 Electric System comes in. They are increasingly the key to a zero-emission strategy.
GOLD STANDARD IN POWERTRAIN SAFETY
At DEUTZ, we not only supply component, but with the E360 Electric System a complete, functional and safe powertrain solution. From the inverter, motor, battery, DC/DC regulator and controller, every element is designed with safety in mind to ensure a seamlesss and safe drivetrain experience.
This means our commitment goes beyond safe components: We ensure a safe integration process that delivers unparalleled reliability.
ELEVATING OFF-HIGHWAY PERFORMANCE
The DEUTZ E360 Electric System is a turnkey solution for the electrification of a wide range of applications and offers the right solution for various power requirements and installation spaces. The basic configuration comprises a 40 kW electric drive and a high-voltage battery, all laid out to power the main drive or the auxiliary drive.
Furthermore, a range of power options are available to fulfil different, specific power requirements. This means that the E360 Electric System can supply both the main drive of an application and the auxiliary systems. If a machine has hydraulic main and auxiliary drive, the electric drive powers a hydraulic pump in the same way as a diesel engine. In this case, the power of the electric drive is split between the hydraulics of the main and auxiliary drives. If there is only one main drive, the power is transmitted directly to the axle.
In this way, a wide range of applications can be powered, enabling the electrification of wheel loaders, excavators, telehandlers, airport equipment, aerial lifts and more.
MODULAR DESIGN FOR ALL POWER RANGES
The DEUTZ E360 Electric System is available in four configurations and offers the best solution for every application.

Custom Power Solutions
All drive variants are based on electric drives. A range of power options is available to meet specific performance requirements. Options include double battery capacity for longer operating times in stationary applications,
telehandlers and wheel loaders with two electric drives for the main drive and auxiliary systems, and a combination of double battery capacity and two electric drives for complex machines such as sweepers. The electric drives can power the main drive of an application and all auxiliary systems. If a machine has hydraulic main and auxiliary drives, the electric drive powers a hydraulic pump, just as a diesel engine would. In this case, the power of the electric drive is split between the hydraulics of the main and auxiliary drives. If there is only one main drive, the power is transmitted directly to the axle.
- DEUTZ E360 D40W40-42: Split à 2 electric drives and 1 high-voltage battery
- DEUTZ E360 D40-84: Parallel à 1 electric drive and 2 parallel high-voltage batteries
- DEUTZ E360 D40W40-84: Max à 2 electric drives and 2 parallel high-voltage batteries
Maximum power with two electric drives
In the extended configuration with two electric drives, the main drive supplies the drive axle directly, while the other drive supplies the working hydraulics. The power is therefore used directly and without loss where it is needed. This is particularly advantageous for wheel loaders and telescopic handlers that move a lot, as it compensates for the efficiency losses of hydraulic main drives.

KEY ADVANTAGES OF OUR ELECTRIC SYSTEM
- Zero emissions: The E360 Electric System is environmentally friendly and does not generate any vehicle exhaust emissions. This significantly reduces a vehicle’s carbon footprint.
- Energy efficiency: The E360 Electric System is particularly efficient at converting electrical into mechanical energy. Energy reserves are stored in batteries and used as required. This means that the drive systems deployed can deliver what is needed in terms of the work to be done and amount of driving required.
- Noise reduction: The E360 Electric System generates virtually no noise or vibrations, which is a major advantage in noise-sensitive scenarios such as city centers and night-time work.
- Optimum power: The E360 Electric System offers instant torque and excellent power delivery. This means faster acceleration, noticeably improved control, more precise handling, and greater maneuverability.
- Lower costs: Fewer parts, less time and less labour means reduced maintenance costs. With operating costs much lower thanks to the Electric System’s greater efficiency, end users enjoy considerable benefits.
